Pizzaiolo History

Our Story

Pizzaiolo was founded in 1985 by Giuseppe Russo, an Italian immigrant who arrived in Toronto with nothing but his family's treasured pizza recipes and a dream to share authentic Italian flavors with Canadians.

What began as a small family-run pizzeria in downtown Toronto has grown into one of Canada's most beloved pizza delivery brands, with over 200 locations nationwide. Despite our growth, we remain committed to the principles that Giuseppe established: using premium ingredients, honoring traditional techniques, and treating every customer like family.

Today, Pizzaiolo combines time-honored Italian traditions with Canadian innovation, creating a unique culinary experience that bridges two cultures. Our pizzaiolos (pizza makers) are trained in authentic techniques, while our culinary team continually explores new flavors that celebrate Canada's diverse food landscape.
